I'm a Non EEA National. Can I still apply for a vacancy?
To be considered for a role within Trinity House all candidates must be able to prove they have the right to work in the UK.

How do I know if I'm qualified for a particular vacancy?
You should refer to the job description for the role you are applying for as this documents the essential and desirable criteria (technical skills section) needed to meet the requirements of the post.
Do you accept CVs for positions?
Trinity House vacancies require the completion of our online application form. CVs are not accepted. Speculative CV's are not cross-matched for vacancies when they occur.
How should I apply for a vacancy?
Sign up for our Vacancy Notification service so that you receive an email every time a vacancy is added to the Trinity House website.

All applications are managed via our online eRecruitment system. You will need to create a user account in order to apply for a role with Trinity House. You can save your application as you proceed before you submitting.
How long will it take to complete the application process?
The application process should be completed with as much detail as possible and this means that application times vary. You can save your application as you proceed which enables you to take the full time necessary to complete your application. Please make sure that you evidence your educational/career history in the boxes provided to demonstrate how these meet the requirements for the post. The form should take between 30 - 90 minutes to complete dependent on the number of technical skills you are required to evidence. This is the opportunity to sell yourself, so really think about the questions being asked!
Do I have to fill in the Equal Opportunities section as part of my application?
This section is essential as Trinity House is committed to providing equal opportunities at all stages of the recruitment and selection process, with diversity and inclusion being very important to us. All applications when viewed by recruiting managers in the eRecruitment system are anonymised. Short-listing, interviewing and selection will be carried out without reference to gender, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic or national origins, religion or belief, age and disability. The completed Equal Opportunities data will not be viewed by recruiting managers as part of the short-listing process, and will only be visible to HR for monitoring purposes only. Data provided is treated in the strictest confidence.
Can I email or call Trinity House to follow up my application?
Your application will be acknowledged via our automated service. You will then be kept informed via email of the progress of your application.
I have missed the closing date. Can I still apply?
The Job Vacancy will automatically be removed from the Trinity House website once the closing date has elapsed and therefore no further applications can be accepted or considered for short-listing.
How will I know if I'm selected for an interview?
Once the close date has elapsed please allow between 5 to 10 working days for short-listing to take place. You will be contacted by email if you are unsuccessful in your application. You will be contacted by email if you are successful in obtaining an interview and asked to book an interview timeslot.
How does the short-listing process work?
Each candidate's application is assessed against the key technical skills required for the post (as detailed in the job description). Candidates are short-listed for interview provided they meet all the required essential criteria.
What can I expect at the interview stage?
If selected for an interview, Trinity House will send information via email informing you of all the details. The majority of interviews last between 45 - 60 minutes dependent on the level of role. For more senior positions you may be asked to present on a topic of the interview panel's choice. Trinity House also utilises aptitude tests and personality questionnaires for some roles. A second stage of interview may take place for certain roles.
Does Trinity House support work experience placements or apprenticeships?
While we fully support work experience placements, it is necessary to limit this to one student per academic year. The placement occurs at the Harwich Depot only through an agreement with the local School.
Trinity House recruit Engineering, IT and Supplies apprentices. All apprenticeship placements are advertised on this site.
