The safety of our guests is of upmost importance to us. In light of this, and in line with latest travel guidance from the Government, all Trinity House lighthouse holiday cottages are now temporarily closed. Our agents, Rural Retreats, are contacting all customers travelling before 13 April to transfer their holiday dates and are only accepting new bookings that have an arrival date after 3rd July 2020.
We appreciate that these are difficult times and we encourage everyone to follow the Government’s guidelines to keep each other safe and well. We hope that in the coming months we will welcome you to holiday with us once again.
North Foreland Lighthouse lies on the chalk headland above the charming and unspoilt seaside town of Broadstairs at the far eastern tip of Kent. The lighthouse itself has two self-catering former lighthouse keepers' holiday cottages. Lodesman and Khina are child-friendly surrounded by spacious lawned grounds and set well away from cliffs.
The holiday cottages have shared use of a very large 1-acre lawned garden and patio with ample space to sit out. Places to visit in this area of Kent include Joss Bay which has an excellent sandy beach, only three minute's walk away. The nearest pub, The Digby Inn, is a 10-minute stroll and serves good food. For golfing enthuiasts, The North Foreland Golf Club is very close by.
Broadstairs in Kent has good sandy beaches and an attractive old town which has literary associations with Charles Dickens. Bleak House in the town is where Dickens lived while he was writing David Copperfield. The town holds a Dickens festival in June each year and a popular Folk Music Week in August.
