About the Artist

Douglas Page was born in 1962 in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Doug lives in Harwich, Essex and regularly exhibits throughout East Anglia and, occasionally, in London.

He began painting during his childhood, being inspired by his Grandfather. The vessels and working of Trinity House has become a feature of his paintings and has attracted interest from all over the UK.

He paints in a loose style but uses a considered approach applying generous proportions of hue in broad strokes. Working in his Harwich studio, from sketches taken on location at Trinity Pier in Harwich, his work depicts a narrative theme with strong emphasis on design and mood.
