Safe Water Marks
Safe Water Marks may be used mid-channel, as a centreline or at the point where land is reached. These buoys (as the name suggests) indicate the presence of safe, navigable water all around the buoy. They may also indicate the best point of passage under a fixed bridge. These buoys are coloured Red and White.
The buoy illustration shows a Class Two configurations of buoy. These are approximately 3 metres in diameter and weigh approximately 6 tonnes excluding moorings.
